Valve is seeking a senior experienced facilities professional to join our facilities services team. At Valve, our primary goal is to improve the lives and the efficiency of our coworkers. Facilities services ensure that the company's day-to-day operations run at the highest possible level. Valve is a multi-faceted company with large-scale, very sophisticated logistics challenges that evolve over time. Furthermore, facilities receive the countless shipments, pieces of mail, deliveries, guests, interview candidates, customers, fans, and misdelivered pizzas that show up to the office every day. From first impressions of a newly hired person to delicate boxes of hardware prototypes, when it comes through the door, the Senior Facilities Manager makes sure it ends up in the best possible place in the best possible state.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Manage full onsite teamwork for facilities operations and services:
  • Triage/Handle all facilities related matters promptly
  • Coordinate office requirements for space planning, furniture, IT
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal customers, our employees, and external contacts as the initial point of contact of Valve
  • Manage the maintenance of onsite equipment in conjunction with vendors and internal resources
  • Partner with internal teams to drive compliance with WISHA/OSHA guidelines
Vendor management includes:
  • Work with the Property Management Company to handle all building issues, repair requests, including managing the cleaning and maintenance of facilities
  • Collaborate with external architects/contractors on any new build, expansion, renovation projects
  • Manage and supervise the performance for suppliers and subcontractors
  • Support events team for domestic and global events
  • Negotiate service contracts
Qualifications/Skills:
  • Professionally demonstrated entrepreneurial aptitude with the ability to establish and achieve goals
  • Emotionally intelligent with the ability to influence, negotiate and build collaborative relationships across the company
  • Experience innovating and driving improvements to our existing programs
  • Detail-orientated with business and finance acuity
  • Proven analytical skills, while having the capacity to work in an ambiguous and risk-tolerant environment
  • Track record of encouraging speed, flexibility, and frugality in the face of a constantly evolving environment
Education and Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in facilities related role with 5+ years of facilities management
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, or equivalent work experience
  • Seasoned professional experience with working with property management, external vendors, supplier resources, running critical systems, coordinating with engineering operations
