At Valve, we are pushing the boundaries of hardware gaming experiences. We are looking for a versatile, self-driven Senior Sourcing Engineer to own EE sourcing across various categories including Strategic ICs, FPGAs, power components, Audio ICs, IMUs, PCBs, FPCs, etc.

What you'll do:
  • Owner of RFQ's - ensuring all commercial terms are agreed and documented. Ensures Non-Disclosure Agreements, General Terms & Conditions, Component Price Agreements, and other related contracts are negotiated before business is initiated
  • Drive price and total cost of ownership negotiations
  • Monitor global industry trends, track technology roadmaps, and actively partner with the Design teams to identify/mitigate supply and demand challenges for the electrical components
  • Manage respective supplier relationships and performance, including but not limited to dispute resolution, supplier scorecards, and periodic business reviews
  • Participate in design reviews, change control meetings, and other technical discussions with Engineering partners; participate in Design for Manufacturability reviews with Engineering partners and prospective suppliers, and drive decisions from a cost and supply perspective
  • Ability to understand technical drawings and specifications as well as basic knowledge of manufacturing process controls and quality assurance for their commodity space; comfortable communicating with technical stakeholders both internally and externally
  • Communicate key supply, cost, and/or quality issues with management teams. Develop corrective action plans to mitigate identified risks
  • Own supply chain timeliness and flexibility for all your categories - Resolve Continuity of Supply issues, drive material planning with the goals of meeting forecast flexibility and mitigate E&O liability

  • Minimum Requirements:
    Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial and Operational Engineering or a related field or the foreign degree equivalent and ten years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the field of Hardware Business Operations, Supply Chain, and Analytics, including:
    • 8 years of experience in supply chain management, or commodity management related to electrical components
    • 8 years of experience in managing external partners and vendor relationships
    • 8 years of experience using tools including PowerBI, Tableau, Arena BOM management (or other BOM Management tools), and MS Office
    • 8 years of experience in continuity of supply or clear to build management for capacity planning wrt forecasts
    • Experience with mechanical and/or electrical engineering concepts related to the commodity and ability to generate bottom-up should costs based on the understanding of manufacturing process
    • 8 years of experience in contract management and negotiations
    • Experience using QuickBooks (or similar ERP accounting software)

    Experience may be gained concurrently.
